This is the same Anne Begg (wheelchair user) who has supported much of the Coalition welfare reform and stated she would be pleased to not claim DLA if it helped others.
MP's currently earn <sic> around £70,000 per annum plus expenses and extra payments if Ministers or Shadow Ministers.
I certainly would relinquish my DLA claim and I'm certain other members would if they had that kind of income.

In addition to the sums mentioned by Jim as quoted above, Anne Begg and indeed David Blunkett also get a further allowance from the taxpayer, as a result of their disabilities.

No wonder Anne Begg would be in a position to relinquish her claim to DLA!
