Hi, if you are requested to attend a medical is it possible to make sure it is at a time when someone can accompany me?

I want a certain person to come with me (including driving me there) but would need to double check with them their availability when atos wants to give me a time. There would be certain times they wouldn't be able to make it but they wouldn't know exactly when so far in advance that I could put it on the form.

Hi DN,

You can certainly make such a request to ATOS, and they are "SUPPOSED" to make any reasonable adjustments for claimants.

Hi displayname,

I had a similar problem to you in that I needed to check with a friend if she could take me when ATOS gave me the date of my assessment. She couldn't, so I rang them back with a list of dates she could make it for the week or so after the date ATOS had given. The ATOS man on the phone was happy to change the date and time to a one convenient for my friend. He did warn me, however, that a claimant can make a change like that only once.

Yes, that is good to know. The friend who will take me to my WCA has lots of other committments, I sent a list of the ones that she knows of and hope that ATOS will work round these...
