Now, like many people, I feel that I should apply for the Support Group as, in my opinion, I will never be able to work again, and if the Government plans go through I will have my benefit stopped next april. I have Rheumatoid Arthritis not yet controlled after 3 years.
I would be grateful for any advice given
Thank you
Hi PD,
It appears that it to late to appeal the WRAG ESA decision, as you only have a month from receiving the decision.
You can only make a fresh claim for ESA, if your condition has deteriorated, or you have new conditions, or 6 months or more has elapsed since the date of your WRAG award decision.
In either case, there would be a risk that you could lose your award of WRAG in a fresh ESA WCA process.
If you where assessed before April 2011, some of the ESA descriptors have changed, to mention one change, the moving around descriptor now includes mobilising with a manual wheelchair.
You could wait for your next re-assessment, and make a concerted effort to gain support group status then.
If you haven't already done so, I would suggest that you read all our ESA Guides in the orange MEMBERS ONLY area on the left.
cheers
