welfare reform bill was created by DRAGON2009
Just a quick question on the welfare reform bill at committee stage How long is it likelyt before the bill becomes law. ?? Please forgive me this isnt a direct benefits question in the normal sense but perhaps important and of interest to not only myself but many others here
The DWP webpage says ASpril 2012, but I think that means the commencement of the provisions will begin in April 2012, rather than the law being enshrined in an act of parliament.
Also, have any of the mods or members seen any of the committee proceedings online as far as discussions about time limiting of ESA is concerned ?

Not sure about how LO g the committee stage takes. I have been following Hansard which is published the day after each session and gives a word for word account. As far as I have seen time limiting has not been discussed yet. I have not read today's session as that is not publisher until tomorrow.

Hi, I've also trawled through the Lords' Hansard and can't find anything about CB ESA.
Will keep reading each day like Ash and see what comes up.
Best wishes,
Rachel

Thanks Ash and Rachel It seems its still not come up yet then.
I really wonder what they will say about it when it does, its surely more of a big issue than the concept of universal credit

Hi, found this;
www.publications.parliament.uk/pa/bills/.../amend/su075-via.htm
from point 72.
Basically, that is what Lord Freud wants and it is being opposed by Lord Patel but I'm not quite sure when!
Best wishes,
Rachel
