Hi....having won an appeal for full ESA for my Cerebellar Ataxia just over a year ago, after waiting 10 months.........I recieved a letter this week saying that as I am in the WRAG group the new Welfare Reform Bill that might be law in April 2012 will make drastic changes to my payments.
With the passing of this new bill I am only entitled to 12 months payments (of which I have had).
I am still employed by my company and therefore am not after a job as my condition prevents me from working.
I have spoken to someone at the DWP and they said that I need to write a letter of appeal to be transfered to the support group.
Can anyone shed any light on this?

So I am well over the month time when the decision was made a year ago.
Do I have to go through the whole appeals process again?

If you have a new condition or your existing conditions have deteriorated and you can show that as a result of this you would now meet one or more of the Support Group criteria, then you can ask for your claim to be reviewed.
However, you need to be aware that your claim will be reviewed in full, and whilst it is unlikely, this can result in the loss of your existing claim.

If the Decision to place you in the WRAG was made nearly a year ago, then it is highly unlikely that a request to appeal the Decision would be accepted, unless you can show Good Cause why such an application should be accepted. So I am well over the month time when the decision was made a year ago.
