Severe Disability Premium was created by greeneyedlad
hello
in order to qualify for the severe disability premium it says you have to;
live alone (there are exceptions to this rule - For more information see our Employment and Support Allowance Guide.)
iv looked in the understanding esa guide but cant find what the exceptions to the rules are, in fact i dont see anything about the severe disability premium, only the enhanced disability premium.
many thanks
martin

in the thread "Support Group, No Medical but 2 month review???" bro58 posts at #74641 a B&W link to Frequently Asked Questions "ESA Premiums" & thats where it says;

but as i said "iv looked in the understanding esa guide but cant find what the exceptions to the rules are, in fact i dont see anything about the severe disability premium, only the enhanced disability premium."
gordon the directgov link also says nothing about exceptions to the rule or how much the premium is.
cheers

The source for the reference is the Disability Alliance and it is their ESA guide that is being referenced. I'm trying to find the information from another source and will post if I can.

There are two exceptions. One relates to living as a couple, and is covered in the DirectGov link I have already supplied.
The second relates to two aspects of whether you live alone or with somebody. First is the question of whether someone normally resides with you, the second, if they do whether are sharing the accomodation or not.
There are a number of rules regarding both of these situations, and ultimately only a Decision Maker can decide whether you meet the requirements and can be deemed to live alone.
