Revision? was created by Louis Cyphre
After failing a medic and filling out the appeal form I got a letter back with a photocopy of the appeal form stating:
The law says we can only deal with an appeal when it has been made in the right way
We need more information please tell us in writing
Which decision you want to appeal against
The reason why you want to appeal against this decision, please provide additional medical information which will us to assess how your condition effects your daily life
this letter also states “we will decide if the appeal should go ahead” if I do this but also states that they will send it to the appeals tribunal service anyway and they will decide if my appeal goes ahead
I have already provided this information and want to know why they are asking for it again but this time in writing instead of forms, what I want to know is, is this a revision? and do I have to do this in order for my appeal to go ahead anyway?

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

If you completed a GL24 in full, then there should be no need for you to do so again.
It sounds like they are asking if you have additional evidence you wish to submit with regard to the DWP carrying out a Revision / Reconsideration.
If you do, then you should get it to them as quickly as possible to ensure that it is included in the process.
If you believe you have already provided sufficient inofrmation, then you should draw the Decision Makers attention to the information by way of a submission or letter.

You can still go to an independant tribunal. It's worth doing this i won a full years IB back this way .
The chairman & doctor tore a strip off dwp
I'm having to go threw this again with the help off welfare rights who said atos are giving everyone zero points .
The welfare rights at your council will go
with you to the tribunal you can also take
someone with you

Talk about confusing and stressing out an appellant with a letter of this kind!
I have read the post with the transcript of the letter a few times and it is far from clear what it actually means, but I would agree with Gordon and his interpretation of the contents. It is possible that the letter is a stock letter which may have had sections for deletion prior to issue which has been neglected, but to say it is badly worded is an understatement!

Unfortunately urban myths such as the above serve no useful purpose other than to cause worry and scaremongering amongst those going through, or about to go through the process.
Put in context of the amount of medicals carried out every day by ATOS, if they are 'giving everyone zero points',then no one would be awarded ESA at all, which hard evidence suggests is not the case.
Whilst forums such as this do serve to highlight the problems people face in obtaining the correct benefits, and that the 'system' is not perfect, these cases are a very small minority set against the number of claimants awarded ESA day after day.
