Can anyone tell me please whether or not you should indicate on the ESA50 form if you belive that you should be in the support group for a discriptor? Also, can you actually state on the form that you beleive you meet exceptional circumstances for the support group for a certain discriptor/s if relevant?
Should you go into detail as to why working or work-related activity would be a risk to you? Or should all this information be left for grounds of appeal if necessary?
Many thanks.

Hi Phidgity
Your ESA50 should contain a detailed description of your health problems in relation to the descriptors. There is no harm in actually stating that you satisfy a descriptor but you need to explain why and if possible provide supporting evidence.
If you feel that you satisfy the exceptional circumstances I think it would be preferable to state that from the beginning on your ESA50 rather than leave it to appeal. It would be helpful if your GP supports this claim and can provide his/her opinion.
Good luck
Derek

Thank you Derek4
I've not been registered with my G.P. too long but I do have a previous report from a therapist stating that I will never be fit for employment. I was also medically retired for impaired mental functioning. Of course I would submit all this info but want to make it clear on ESA that work-related activity would cause me harm due to PTSD and other mental health conditions including agoraphobia caused by two industrial accidents in my last employment and prolonged work stress.
