I am thinking about requesting early payment of the above because my condition is not getting better etc . I am currently in the support group awaiting a decision on whether I remain there after my second assessment. The stress of the assessment process has made me think it would be better to try to get my pension early and have done with the whole awful ESA process, but I feel equally that I am entitled to ESA and want to fight on! Can't find on the site the pension/earnings threshold before ESA is reduced. Can you help? Many thanks again for a quite fabulous site. I have another thread to post but will do it separately.

If one is applying now, the 'limit' or disregard of an Occupational Pension for someone receiving Contributory ESA is £85.00 gross per week.

For any occupational pension over £85 per week then ESA is reduced at the rate of 50p per £1.00 of occupational pension.

If one is claiming Income Related ESA then there is no disregard and the whole pension is offset against Income related ESA.

Hi,

As a matter of interest, when would your state retirement pension be due as this may affect Pete's response to you.

Is there any reason why my post about occupational pensions has not been posted on the forum?

Hi Gardiner

It appears that your post was deleted due to the fact that we can not answer questions of this sort, as they are not benefits we deal with.

There is usually an explanation, but If the site is busy, one may not appear. Please see here -

Why hasn’t my post appeared?

Kind regards

Michael

Mod note - I have now had the opportunity to read through your deleted post and can advise that a moderator deleted it as it was felt to be ambiguous, incorrect and confusing.
