IB& ESA Benefit Rates

Hi

I a currently received Incapacity Benefit of £94.25 pw and am being migrated onto ESA.
Could someone please advise the current ESA rates for Support & WRAG?
Am a bit confused about reference to "assessment" rate.
If I was migrated onto WRAG, would my total weekly benefit stay the same and only rise if put into Support?
Again a bit confused about those who say they will be on less money whilst they appeal, unless of course ESA has been completely denied or they have to claim JSA.

PS: Of whom must one request the ESA85A at the relevant time?

Hi,

Contributory ESA Support Group is £99.85 per week, whilst WRAG is £94.25.

One only receives the assessment rate either whilst making a new ESA claim (NOT a migration from IB/IS) whilst a decision is made, or if the decision is made to find one fit for work and one then puts in an appeal - the assessment rate is paid pending either the result of a reconsideration and/or appeal tribunal.

If one is still found fit to work then all ESA stops, or if one is placed into the WRAG or Support Group any back pay owing is then paid.

I hope this explains it.

Re asking for copies of forms etc, it is to the office dealing with ones migration claim (in the case of a migration from IB to ESA)

Does someone have to inform the DWP if they currently get Severe Disability Premium (as well as IB)and that they still satisfy the conditions on migration and how do they go about getting it?

Hi P,

If a claimant is entitled to "premium" top ups on IB, and their circumstances do not change with regards to the premium, and they are sucessfully migrated to ESA, they will still receive a top up to ensure that they receive the same amount of benefit under "Transitional Protection" rules.
