Hi to all - This is my first time posting and I hope that someone can help!

Over many years I have had a history of severe depression and anxiety, and despite this tried lead a normal life as possible. But it has also led to broken relationships and not being a able to hold a job done for to long.

About a year ago, I had a very serious breakdown, and was referred to the home treatment team. Within 3 months, I had an ATOS medical, and my welfare officer came with me. I was one of the lucky ones I suppose because my experience was good, and I was put into the support group.

Since then I have been prescribed a much stronger medication including, ones for psychosis, and was also an outpatient. I have now been discharged, and have been attending a day center. I am still on the aforementioned medication, and I am very anxious, because I have received another form for another medical.
Due to the cuts, no welfare officer can come with me or friend for that matter, and despite the fact that the form was filled in by a volunteer in the health sector, I fear I may loose my benefits, and I have no key worker to turn to.
The day center does not accommodate such needs.

I have come here for any advise.. I hope you can help, by sharing your thoughts or, experiences.

The reason I ask is that I would like to know form you if you think face being taking out of the ESA support group, and am I better off not having someone there with me?

Thanks

Paul

I am afraid the Moderators are unable to provide personal advice, see

Why can’t you answer a question about my specific claim?

However, I am sure that some of the members will be able to comment.

If there is a local Mind office in your area they may be able to help, as they often have advocacy workers who can accompany you to a medical assessment should it be necessary?
