The 'NEW' ESA50 Form was created by C&L
Hi All
I'm filling the latest version of ESA50 form out (03/11). My claim is on mental health grounds. I've noticed that this latest version contains fewer questions in part 2 (Mental, Cognitive and Mental Functions) in comparison to the previous version.
I'm assuming fewer questions means less chance of scoring points. Is this the case? Is it even more difficult to make a successful claim on mental health grounds than it was before?

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

In a nutshell, the general consensus of opinion would tend to agree that "yes" is the answer to both your questions.

Dont leave it at the form, add exra pages, staple them to the form and possibly get the ATOS DWP office fax and produce your extra pages to them with NI number attached and send by postal recorded delivery or by fax
Take no chances, the last thing you want is to get a medical where the doctor/nurse claims to know nothing about you
Plus a good written account, consistent with the evidence they already hold on you (if you an existing claimant who has been assessed before) makes it mor elikely you can be 'accepted' without a face to face examination.

Thanks for the reply CD.
So that's the way forward!! - keep reducing questions, and with it, the potential to score points. In the end no one will pass. Job done.

You could enhance the information given on form ESA50 by following the advice given by XFACTOR in the above post?
