ESA Renewal and Retirement

Hello

I wonder can anyone help? I have been receiving ESA since November 2009 and I have today received ESA50 03/11 form from ATOS to complete and return by 02/01/2012!
That is the date of my 65th birthday!

I would assume that ESA finishes when I receive my state pension! Do I still have to complete the form!

I also receive Higher Rate Mobility Allowance of DLA, would this have anything to do with it?

I would appreciate any information and and assistance I thank you in anticipation!

In your circumstances it may be advisable to ring (and follow up in writing) the DWP office dealing with your claim to discuss whether it needs to be completed.

DLA is a separate benefit and should not have a bearing on your ESA claim, particularly in the circs given.

If you are to receive your state pension from 2 January 2012 your entitlement to ESA should cease, but it would be in your best interests to contact the JCP/BD office which handles your ESA claim, to find out whether the ESA50 form should still be completed and returned?

Contacted JCP and they said complete the form and return otherwise they may cancel my benefit from the end of November for not returning it!

How is it that one hand doesn't know what the other hand is doing in these departments?
