I attended my Medical assessment last week, I went prepared after reading all the guides and questions I may get. I have a Visual problem. However I wasn't prepared for what happened - The HCP duly noted down my problems and precised a History from the IB I had completed, then stated that she wasn't going to give me a medical as it would be pointless as my eyes were obviously bad and she had the Doctors report. End of assessment. Has anyone else had this happen? I can nothing in any of the Medical Services / Atos handbooks that state that a medical need not be completed.
Basically, the HCP, found they were able to make a recommendation without completing the medical. Usually in these cases, you can avoid the medical completely, but occasionally they need to actually see the claimant to visually confirm the information.
