Hi all, i have been on ESA wrag since july 09, s/group since april this year. my macmillan advisor tells me i should be on dla, is this more beneficial! can i apply and if get turned down keep esa? i have arm / back problems and prostate cancer am 61 now, feel ok considering ,but to be honest the money i get is the same as my old age pension will be, and with the feeling the the government are just trying to stop your money i cant wait to be 65 and getaway from this fiasco, thanks for your service that keeps me going!all the best merry xmas and new year!

Yes you can apply for DLA and it should not affect your ESA in a negative way, you may even be eligible for additional ESA premiums if you are successful.

Hi Rappa,
ESA is paid to people who are unfit for work. DLA ia an 'in work' benefit, paid to anyone who meets the criteria, it helps cover some of the extra costs associated with being disabled (or chronically sick).
