hi dee
no dwp did not ask me these things about his old bedroom or where my son would live after uni or anything about earnings? he got loans and grants to live on which he now has to pay back and he did not return home after uni having found work in his uni town.

as long as you are getting child benefit your child will be classed as a dependent so you will be classed as living aloan which gives you the sd premium, but as soon as cb ends your child would be classed as a non-dependant so you would lose your sd premium as you will not be classed as living aloan.

to get my case sorted out i did have to complain to the manager at my local office before anything was done but it was easier to contact them 3 years ago i had a local office but that is now closed.
