Hi R,
There will be no time limit with regards to payment of ESA, for claimants in the Support Group.
See : 12 Month Limit for ESA(CB)

Let me elaborate.
Reassessed by ESA50 form September 2010 having been placed in the work related activity group then after completing a GL24 form stating that I wished to take my case to appeal.
The decision was made to place me in the Support Group during April 2011 without having to go through the appeals proceedure
Received a new ESA50 Form September 2011
Heard nothing then given 4 days notice to attend a new medical assessment.
I feel this is a cynical attempt to remove me from the support group if that is the case I will lose the ESA benefit from April 2012.
Am I becoming paranoid?
Any comments would be much appreciated
Thank you

A very clever move by the DWP.

Hi RCAR,
The proposed rules as they stand, and with regards to the information that we have at this time, are.
Any time spent in The WRAG, in receipt of CESA, up until April 2012, as the rules are to be applied retrospectively, or after April 2012, will be added up cumulatively.
Once the 365 days of entitlement is attained, any payment of CESA would cease.
Any days spent in the SG are not counted towards this 365 day entitlement, and a claimant will continue to receive ESA whilst in the SG.
In other words if a claimant spent 200 days in receipt of CESA, and was then put into the SG, he would remain in receipt of ESA whilst in the SG.
If however on reassessment the claimant was then placed in The WRAG CESA, he would only have 165 days of entitlement left, before payment ceased.
OF course if the claimant could pass the means test he would then be entitled to IRESA.
