Would it be possible for a person who has used up the 12month time limited ESA to buy NI Contributions to enable them to claim ESA again.
I seem to recall having a letter a few years ago telling me I had a shortfall in NI contributions and that I could top them up myself. As it happens It turned out to be a mistake at their end.
Hi s46,
In short No.
The only way to gain the necessary NI Contributions would be through paid employment.

No S,
The necessary NI Contributions could only be obtained by gaining employment , after the entitlement ceases.

I understand you can only reclaim ESA(CR)after gaining employment, but any ideas as to how long you have to work to build up enough NI contributions to reclaim ????
