DLA APPEAL was created by pegleg
Hi,
I have recently put in an appeal for my DLA.I'm very nervous about going to the Tribunal, as I'm not a very good speaker. Can anyone tell me if I can get a representative to go with me and speak on my behalf?
Thanks, Janet.

Hi PL,
I have changed your post to lowercase, as block capitals cause problems for people using screen readers.
Can you please post in lowercase in future.
As it would seem that you are new to the forum, you may wish to read :

There is also lots of information on DLA, Appeals and much more in our FAQ's, which can be accessed from here :

You can appoint anyone who is agreeable as your representative.
It is obviously best if you can obtain professional representation from The CAB etc, see :
Where to get advice?
If you have already sent your appeal off to the DWP, you should inform them if you secure representation, and likewise with the Appeals Tribunal Service, if it has got that far.

Hi pegleg - Firstly I'd tell you not to stress, you can take someone with you that knows first hand of your illness; It's not too scary going to a DLA Tribunal, you can of course take representation, but the questions you'd be asked are relative to your condition, and so would be simple to answer.
Please don't spend the next few months fretting, take advice from this sight, and I'm sure you'll be fine. Good luck.

Unless the doctor on the panel knows far more about you than your own, or maybe if the backdated money goes way over £10,000
