Welfare Rights and ESA Appeal was created by Mandy155
I was placed in the WRAG without a medical, but I feel I should be in the Support Group. I wrote to them advising that I wish to Appeal and would submit further evidence.

My GP has prepared a letter in support of my claim, but I have not seen it as yet as my husband is collecting it this evening.

I have an appointment with Welfare Rights in the morning to help me, could anyone guide me as to what I need to take with me.

Thanks for your help.

Hi M155,

You should take any paperwork that you may have pertaining to your ESA Award, this may include, a copy of your ESA50, the letter of ESA Award, any written correspondence between yourself and the DWP/ATOS, any evidence or extra pages that you sent with your ESA50, any fresh supporting evidence, such as the letter of support from your G.P. that you mention and any ESA Reports/Forms, that you may have requested and be in possession of as here :

ESA medical – what forms to ask for?

ESA Forms

As it appears that you are appealing WRAG, to gain entry to the SG, it may help to have a firm idea as to how you may qualify for the SG, with regards to the SG Descriptors, see :

Qualifying for the Support Group

And :

www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2011/228/schedule/2/made?view=plain

To put it "in a nutshell" anything pertaining to the WRAG award that you wish to appeal.

Good luck, and let us know how you get on, by reposting here.

Thanks for your reply. I think the meeting went well. He was really pleased with what my GP had written in her letter of support and said it isn't often a Dr will take the time to give such a detailed explanation. I know I am lucky to have such a brilliant doctor.

Driving there I felt so ill that I was feeling as though I didn't want to bother fighting them any more but after speaking to the WFO I feel he has taken a lot of the pressure off me.

Thanks again for your help and I will keep you posted.
