work programme while awaiting ESA appeal!?

I think the point is that the OP is still in the assessment phase, hence not getting the WRAG component anyway.
Nearly correct MHB.
The O.P. is in receipt of Assessment Rate ESA, because he is appealing a "fit for work" decision.
The same applies though with respect to not being in receipt of the WRA Component.

See 53050 in this document :

I am still unclear, though it seems to indicate that only the WRAG component is affected. Is this the case? Personally speaking if it is, then it would be a small price to pay for not taking part in their stupid games.

Hi ST,
It clearly states The WRA Component, see extract :
Reduction of ESA,
53050.
Where the DM has determined that a claimant has failed to attend or participate in a
WFHRA or WfI without good cause (“a failure determination”) then the amount of ESA payable to the claimant will be reduced,
1. by 50% of the amount of the work related activity component in each of the
first four benefit weeks to which the reduction applies
2. by 100% of the amount of the work related activity component in each
subsequent benefit week.
The reduction is brought into effect by means of supersession. The effective date is the first day of the benefit week commencing after the date of the decision.

so if I ignore the letter from provider and don't attend the appoitment I wont loose my benefit?
to clarify,I am appealing against initial refusal of my ESA medical,I have never had any work focused interviews or any appointment with jobcentre at all.
also I have never received any letter from jobcentre in this regard.it's just a direct letter from provider.
I think, the provider does not even know I am claiming ESA,but because before claiming ESA I was on JSA and was refered to them by the Jobcentre they still have my details on their system and are trying to book me in to the work programme.
(I closed my JSA and claimed ESA around 7 months ago)
