WRAG IR and work programme was created by micksville
I was reading the October 5th Newsletetr regarding the changes for WRAG ( IR) claimants who can now be forced onto the work programme with 6 months left on their prognosis as opposed to 3 months.
Question is why does this relate to the IR not Contributions based claimants or indeed claimants who get a mix of IR and Contributions based. What's the difference? I can't find reference anywhere on the site to it.I've just been placed onto WRAG with a 2 year prognosis but as I have been on long term IB I am not sure what I am yet. IR or CB

All IB claimants are being transferred to ESA(CB).
AS I understand it, ESA(CB) claimants who receive an ESA(IR) top-up are still defined as being on ESA(CB).
Hope this explains it.

sorry gordon but not really. What I was asking is whether there is a distinction for being put on the work programme mandatorily once your prognosis is in it's last 6 months... Is there a distinction for that happening between claimants on Ir or CB? that's what the news letter in question seems to be suggesting odd though that sounds.

As it clearly states ESA(IR)claimants and not ESA(CB) or ESA claimants, I think it reasonable to assume that ESA(CB) claimants are not included in this early referral, but they can still be referred when they have 3 months of their prognosis remaining.

The DWP newsletter you are referring to states that ESA(IR) claimants will be considered for submission to the Work Programme when they have six months of their prognosis remaining.sorry gordon but not really.
