ESA for 3rd time was created by shandy
I posted last June 2011 to tell you after 2 years and 2 medicals I was finally put into the support group. Well las friday I received another esa50 form to fill in. I have Multiple Myeloma (incurable bone marrow cancer).
When I had my last assesment in June2011 the atos lady did not even examine me, and I was put into the support group. The only thing was on the assesment form she wrote everything she needed to about my incurable illness but at the end wrote 'may be able to start work in 12 months' - hello !! don't they understand the meaning of 'incurable'
So yet again the system has now spit out another esa50 form after 8 months. I don't need all this stress, 3 times in 2 years- so much for mr cameron saying ' cancer patients will be in the support group for as long as they need it' - what a joke !!!!.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

I'm sorry that you are having to go through this. As I understand it, even people in the support group will be expected to undergo frequent reassessment - don't ask me how testing people with incurable conditions is supposed to save the country money as I have not been able to get my head round that one!

Hi Shandy
I've heard of someone in their forties who was born blind, blind all his life, and the medical report stated that his condition is likely to improve within 12 months!!!
It may just be their way of saying: we'll retest you in a year in case you're better, or just for the hell of it!
Good luck anyway and I hope it passes without a face-to-face. It may even be worth writing to your MP to bring the absurdity of the retesting programme his or her attention.
Regards
Derek
