I don't think DLA claimants should treat it any differently from a renewal, If your HRM is reduced or lost, then it is quite likely that your car will need to be returned. It also begs the question what would happen if you had not long taken lease of a motability vehicle which is 3 years, what would happen if you did,nt win the PIP assessment.

Motability are obviously aware of the changes involved in PIP, but I am not aware of changes to their requirements for a claimant to make use of there facilities, which is an HRM award of at least three years.I am due to replace my motorbility vehicle in September this year as I am on DLAHM/HC Indefinately, will this affect me getting my replacement due then.

As I understand it, Motability may, in some circumstances, offer the claimant the opportunity to pay the monthly leasing fee from their own funds, but strictly speaking the lease is made n the basis of the claimant being in receipt of DLA HRM, if this is not the case, then they are entitled to break the lease and require the car be returned. Thanks for the comment Gordon, but i was under the impression that the claimant signed the lease for 3 years , and if their circumstances change they would be liable to pay the remaining money till the 3 years lease was up, i may be wrong as i said earlier my head is a bit mashed with all this.
