I know that I will be called to transfer me from IB to ESA this year, and in one of the guides it states that they call you via telephone to tell you the questionnaire is on the way. However, answering the telephone is not something that I take lightly, and its usually my wife who deals with it. What would happen if I refuse to answer the phone, would they just send out the questionnaire anyway?

Hi Jayne, you do not have to talk to anyone on the phone it you would prefer not to. As you suspect, if you cannot be reached by phone the forms will be sent out anyway and the claim will progress as usual.

The phone call is just a form of 'softening-up' - there's no obligation to speak over the phone prior to the WCA. You will be sent the form anyway.
