DLA was created by davidkent
This is the first time I have posted a msg here, so my apologies if I do something wrong!
I am 58 years old and have received Incap Benefit (IB) for 25 years and DLA (higher care and lower mobility) for about 15 years due to my T1 diabetic condition which I've had for over 50 years and all the problems it causes. In fact I will be moving shortly to where 24/7 professional care is available as my condition continues to worsen.
As others, I am aware that at some point in time I will have a medical check/examination in respect of both my IB and DLA claims. However, I received a letter from the DWP today advising me of the April increases in my DLA and for the first time ever I noticed it refers to both DLA elements being paid 'indefinitely'. Perhaps this has been said on earlier letters and I've just not noticed it.
Anyway, I just wondered - is there any signifiocance to this in respect of the medical exams that are being held for clamaints?
Thanks
D.

Hello and welcome to B+W. As you are new to the site, you might find this helpful

Finally - to anwser your question. I am afraid that you cannot read anything into the fact that your awards have been classed as 'indefinate'. As you probably know, you will be switched from IB to ESA and DLA to PIP at some stage in the future.

I am afraid that moderators are not able to change your user name. The link I gave in my previous post contains the e-mail address that you need.

My dla was awarded for life years ago and one day I noticed that my new award letter had changed to indefinitely. I'm afraid this means nothing and the government have. Changed the rules and moved the goalposts so everyone will be reassessed regardless of any previous award notices.
