ESA Tribunal Pending

Hi,

Was advised last year that ESA Contrib would be stopping in April. Appealed in December to be put into support group which has now been passed to Tribunal Service.

Have received a letter saying hearing won't be until December, but has been mentioned to me that I should be getting the appeal rate paid to me until the hearing?

Could you tell me if this is correct please, or am I right in thinking that because I have had 365 days worth of ESA Contrib based that I wont get anything from 30th April until a decision has been made by the tribunal?

Hi Yorkie, I'm afraid that you are correct. Your ESA will stop at the end of this month. The money will be backdated if you are placed in the support group.

Makes me wonder how the powers that be expect people to live on fresh air

If they paid you while you are awaiting appeal and the decision went against you, you would have to pay back everything you had received since 30th April
