In the first posting on this thread, the poster said she had a working partner, hence the 'single' income based qualification won't apply.

Thanks for picking that up, Pete. The OP says that her partner is also on ESA - how does this affect things?

sorry for the confusion, my parter did work but has had surgery so no longer working but is hoping to return to work in the next month or two and then i will be back home alone again. should of explained this better.

Ah, I see the goalposts have moved somewhat from having a working partner to having a partner also on ESA!

In anycase contributory ESA in the WRAG will end after 365 days.

It may (subject to financial conditions being met) be then possible for one of you to claim income Related ESA as a family.

To see which one of you maybe better claiming this needs face to face advice from a welfare rights agency/CAB etc.

In which case, Pete's advice about your partner claiming working tax credit etc still stands. Sick and disabled people are now expected to depend on their partners rather than having an independant income of their own.

thank you for your advice. Obviously even if my partner does return to work and my benefit is taken off me, which is will be as there is no way i can work due to not leaving the house, his income would not be enough to cover what i would loose. It seems there's not much point in me being here. Looks like we will loose our house as well now. I'm grateful for your advice.
