telephone call re esa was created by socrtz
I am worried regarding my letter from the dwp regarding the transfer from IB to ESA. It say in the letter "if you havn't heard from us in 2 weeks of the date of this letter, please call us on the number above bla bla bla. Does this mean you HAVE to call them (is it another stealth test of your abilities) or is it ok to wait for the ESA form to arrive without worrying about your benefits being stopped. Have any members experience of this, havning not rung them back please.

You do not have to speak to anyone on the phone if you do not wish to. However, if you do not receive your ESA50 form within the 2 weeks, if you do not ring to check you will not know if it has been sent but not delivered for some reason...

The phone call, at this point in the process, is simply to ask you if you have any questions regarding the transfer, missing it should have no effect on the process continuing as is evidenced by you receiving the ESA50, which is the next step.

After you return the ESA50, ATOS may try and contact you regarding arranging a medical, if you have specific requirements regarding the timing of a medical, it may be to your advantage to take this call, assuming a medical is actually required, which it might not.
