In principle I can't see any reason why, if your care and mobility needs are the result of your medication, why you should not claim DLA on this basis.

However, I do think you would need to show that this medication is required for treatment of your underlying condition(s), that the side effects cannot be managed through better dosage or addiitional medecine, and that there are no alternate medicines which would not have the same level of impact on your daily living. This might be very difficult for you to do.

Have you discussed your DLA claim with your GP and they might have some valuable input.

You might also want to get assistance with your appeal, see

I'm currently waiting to hear back about the DLA180, right payment programme, I sent back to DLA near the end of March. When my medication was changed, by the consultant at the pain clinic, I sent in a letter stating additional information. After advice I got from here, from Pete I believe, and after phoning DLA and being told to outline the effect the new medication had on me.

This might seem odd to ask but do certain departments of the DWP have days they send out mail or is it a constant flow?

I don't think there is any pattern as to when letters are sent out.

Yeah I'm sure there isn't. Just I always seemed to hear back about the old IB50's on a Tuesday lol

Just thought with the amount of mail going in and out certain days might be set aside for collections etc.

Most DWP letters are a standard template that is requested for printing by a DWP advisor, so it is not impossible that some, but I doubt all, letters are printed by a computer programme on particular days.
