i start the claim at 8th of may and send they recieved all my information inculded dr notes etc on 29th , would they back dated it back to the 8th for assessment phase ?
i cant find much information online other then the ''you will also automatically count as having limited capability for work if you get DLA.''
so does that mean i will automatically getinto the main phase payment ?
what would the prograss of ESA be for full time disabled student ? when will i recieved my first payment .
another quetion is i m going on hoilday for 2 months in the end of june ,and i was told to stop the assessment phase while i m hoilday and restart it after i m back , does that mean i have to reapply for the whole ESA again or and back to first week of assessment phase or i will start on when ever week i left withtill the main phase ?

Does your college/uni not have a Students Union who can advise on these matters ?
If not, try Benefit Enquiry Line

Hi,
Sorry but we cannot answer questions about individual circumstances.
The reason you probably cannot find much online is that the rules for claiming ESA as a full time student are somewhat complicated.
They are basically as at para15 of the following document:
www.disabilityrightsuk.org/f31.htm
but as always do seek face to face advice as they can go through your own individual circumstances.
Re going away, it is possible to ask the DWP for a 'rapid reclaim' on return.

Just a question in relation to the above persons post, are you automatically classed as having limited capability for work if you get DLA

Just a question in relation to the above persons post, are you automatically classed as having limited capability for work if you get DLA

I'm afraid not. DLA is paid to claimants with mobility and/or care needs. Many claimants on DLA manage to hold down part-time or even full-time jobs.
To use myself as an example, I sat on DLA Tribunals one day a week ( or sometimes two half-days) for around 10 years whilst in receipt of IB and DLA.
Hope this helps.
Jim
