ESA appeal was created by Leah x X x X
Hi, i was recently placed in WRAG after my medical, i am about to appeal this as i do honestly believe i should be in the support group, my question is, If i appeal this decision will i still recieve my payments every fortnight (wrag payments) or will they stop the payments whilst i'm appealing? i am aware that if i am unsuccessful that i will lose the wrag entitlement, many thanks

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi Leah,
Your payments will continue until your appeal is heard - or until you have had it for 365 days, whichever is the sooner. Youe ESA will stop after 365 days in the WRAG if you are not entitled to income related benefit.
Please note that you are required to co-operate with the Work Focused Interviews while you are awaiting appeal although these can sometimes be held on the phone.

Just to add to Mrs H's comments
Whlst it is possible that an appeal can can result in you losing your WRAG award, the chances of this are very small, and the most liklely outcome of a failed appeal is that you will remain in the WRAG.
