confused now Chrissy if you were 60 in May 2012 wouldn't you have been born in 1952? If you were born in 53 that makes you 59 in 2012??? Or is it me fibro fog

thanks for clearing that up! stress levels very high at the mo as we all are but would be tons worse if it wasn't for the kind people on these forums and the hardworking mods who reply to our queries in their own time. :cheer:

Hiya,
I was born in '57 and like most of us females expected to reach pensionable age at 60.
With the goal posts forever changing at the whim of some idiotic beurocrat, I now have to keep fighting with ESA until I reach 66.
I was retired due to ill health in 1996 by local govt with the Jobcentre plus personel/ consultants/doctors etc. sanctioning leaving work due to ill health and going onto IB til retirement age. Even have a letter from Jobcentre then saying to be on IB until reaching retirement at 60 wayback then, however it all means nothing with the new ESA benefit stuff, despite them being the ones putting me on IB and DLA.
I am in the SG, but will have to refill the usual blurb in May next year and then have to look forward to PIP.
Madness we all know.

I do believe if your condition wasn't expected to change then you would have been put on IB until retirement age at 60. I was given a long term prognosis at my last IB test (5 years) which would have taken me up to retirement age. It is all about saving money on the backs on the people least able to do anything about it.

I dont feel so alone now. How come the decision maker can decide that the decision made to award us IB who was made by health professionals is not valid any longer when in fact my health has deteriorated significantly since being awarded IB in 2008. I did not want to give up work but I could not continue any longer. Thanks for letting me know you are out there. Sorry to those born in 1953 - I can fully understand your frustration.
