ESA: No decision letter sent out was created by lcdemon
Has anyone else heard of this?
I have been in the support group for a year and sent off my ESA50 14 weeks ago for the review. I expected to be called for a medical.
Not having heard anything, I rang up the DWP to be told that I am continuing in the support group until 2013.
I asked if I would get a decision letter and was told that NO I wouldn't as I was staying on the same benefit and they didnt always send letters out if there wasnt going to be a change....this seems strange, as I thought they always let you know...

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

This sounds like the usual, uninformed rubbish, that the call centre staff spout!
If a Decision has been made on your claim, which it sounds like there has, then the DWP are legally required to notify you in writing on that Decision.
I would call your local office again and ask to speak to the Customer Manager, although this will require a call back, hopefully they will have better understanding of how the system actually workds.

thank you for your swift reply. I will ring again tomorrow.
PS If it IS true that I have succeeded in staying in the support group, it is entirely down to the excellent guides on here!
