I've had a letter to say DWP will phone me regarding change over to ESA and ask about 'my identity' then send form to fill up Limited Capability for Work. Why are they phoning me not just sending the form? is this a trick? What will they ask me? I recently sent back a long form about Income Support sent to supposedly update my details. All the worry of this is making me feel worse, I'm so worried about having to go for a medical. Can anyone tell me what to expect and what to do when they phone. I often don't answer my phone for days on end when I'm depressed (or open my post), so will this go against me? I am terrified.
The phone call is to find out whether you have any questions on the transfer process, you do not need to take this call and the DWP will conitnue on the next stage, which is to issue an ESA50. The FAQs on the following link have more details on the transfer process.
