help am i doomed now? ESA nigtmare was created by newbie27
hi
where do i start?
i received a HM revenue notice today p45 and the form stated my benefits ceased form yesterday??
so i called them MAD PANIC
i knew what it could be
because im a volunteer trustee of a disability usser lead charity, we have some staff and we received a cheque over payment for NI and HM sent the cheque of £500 in my name, however i called HM to say they should have paid the charity, they said dont worry just bank the cheque in my name and write a cheque out to the charity for the said amount which i have done and took copies of all,
now will this trigger an investigation?
i called ESA today and explained what the plonkers did at HM they said dont worry, because its nothing to do with that MIGHTY SIGH!
they said its because my IP AND IS as changed over to the new ESA? i told the WOMAN that im a volunteer none paid trustees, i haven't told them before that i do volunteer work (as im in the support group)
will they think now? because im a voulnteer trustee that im fit enough for work and could it trigger something now that ive called up?
nightmare ;o(

From you post you appear to have been recently, successfully transferred from IB to ESA and are currently in the Support Group.
The P45 was issued to the closure of your IB claim, you need to retain it for tax purposes.
You were required to inform the DWP whilst receiving IB, that you were carrying out volunteer work, and the same applies under ESA, although you do not need their permission to do so, if you have not done this, then you should do so, although I would recommend you get face to face advice from your local CAB, just to cover the bases.
Providing you volunteering is not at odds with the statements you made on your ESA50 regarding your limitations, there should be no reason for the DWP to consider re-assessing you.
You might want to look at our guide on volunteering, see
