Hi Can anyone tell me please..... My son gets hrc and lrm. He will start a uni course in september living at home and with a full time mentor. Am i right that whilst he is a student on dla he automatically becomes entitled to esa? How would i claim it and what rate is it paid pleae? Many thanks

I am afraid you may misunderstood what he is entitled to.
Normally, people in full time education cannot claim ESA, however, if they are also in receipt of DLA then a claim is allowed.
So it is not so much that he is entitled to ESA, he is not (unless he meets the criteria), but rather he can claim it when others cannot.
I have simplified the rules for claiming ESA whilst in education, so please do not take them asis.
