Letter from ATOS about complaint was created by Cymbeline26
I had my medical assessment. My friend complained about my treatment by the person who assessed me. She stated that the assessor wasn't polite to me and was making huffing and sighing noises when I answered my questions and not being polite. She also stated that my assessment was too short and the assessor didn't expand with asking more questions.
The letter we got today says this:
"I have carefully noted your comments regarding Ms D's manner and the way in which she conducted the interview. Atos Healthcare Professional Standards require HCP's to be polite and to make the customer welcome and feel at ease. They are also required to allow the customer time to give their history, and to ask questions in a non-adversarial manner. I am sorry of, on this occasion, you perceived that Ms D did not meet these standards. I have brought this matter to the attention of her Clinical Team Manager for her appropriate feedback to be given.
Then this letter states:
"ESA assessments typically last between 20 minutes and 1 hour. The amount of time taken will depend on the number and complexity of the customer's conditions and their personal circumstances. However, I note that your assessment was slightly shorter than this at 16 minutes and this is because it "curtailed".
If the recommended descriptors suggest to a high level of functional limitation, likely to mean the customer would be in the "Limited Capability for Work" category, then the LiMA computer program "curtails". This means that many parts of the report do not need to be completed. This "curtailing" has been fully agreed and approved by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). In other words, the advice Ms D has provided to the DWP is supportive of the difficulties you have getting about and coping socially and she had obtained sufficient information to provide advice to the DWP without continuing further with the assessment. I also note that Ms D took a further 18 minutes to complete the report after you had left the examination room."
My question is does this information they have provided mean I might go in to the WRAG?

Would imply that you have been placed in the WRAG, however, you will need to wait for a DWP Decision Maker to confirm the recommendation.likely to mean the customer would be in the "Limited Capability for Work" category
