Reading previous IB50 was created by Derekq
Hi All
If you have in the past filled out the IB50 (as was) which went to the DWP before atos days, just had a thought, do atos take a look at previous IB50 assuming that you have been on IB for a period of time or do they only look at the current esa50.

As in my case they would see a detearation of health and conditions since I last filled in a IB50/esa50.

Or would it only be the dwp who would look back maybe at the decision making stage ?
Any thoughts
Regards, Derek.

Don't assume that DWP will look at your previous forms/files as they are unlikely to do so (even if they stil have them). I would not expect ATOS to have access to anything other than your current paperwork eiter.

Derek

In principle the DWP would have access to your past assessments, but as far as I am aware this information is not included in the file that is sent to ATOS when you are assessed.

We know that in some cases the DWP make use of this information, but it is not clear what the criteria are for using or not using it.

Our recommendation to all members, is to treat the transfer as a new claim, and provide as detailed a response to the ESA50 as possible, including any relevant evidence that you have available.

Thanks MHB & Gordon
Appreciate your info, I have read through my last IB50 and can now see just how much I have declined health wise.

I am surprised that they dont read back on these forms, but as you say there not interisted on what was but what is ...
I always keep a copy for myself of any form sent to any official body/organisation so I know what I have written.

I will take your note as to treat the esa50 as a new claim and go from there.

Can you tell me if your GP is abbliged to make a medical report on my behalf even if I have to pay for it ??? I am on reasonable terms with my GP but have never put the GP to the test as yet but in the near future I will be asking for a medical report to be made available.

I intend to send the medical report with the esa50 detailing all my medical problems + do the same for DM at dwp.

Not sure if the esa50 goes from me straight to atos then they pass it to dwp is that correct ?

Sorry long post !

Yes, the ESA50 goes straight to ATOS and they pass it along to DWP when they have done their bit.

Your GP is not obliged to write a report, even if you pay. In fact, many GP's refuse to do so.
