ESA Tribunal cancellation was created by citymike
Hi all
Just wondering if anyone has had the same experience.
I had a ESA appeal tribunal hearing today. I spent all weekend worrying about it, only to get a call this morning cancelling the hearing as the panel want to write to my GP for more medical information. As well as numerous physical problems I also have mental health issues, and this has really caused me a lot of anxiety.
Don't know what to read into the decision.
Thanks CM

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

I don't think you can read anything into this either way. The Tribunal panel don't feel they have enough information to make a decision and want to contact your GP, that is all.

The Tribunal panel only receive the papers for your appeal the day before the hearing, so unfortunately these decision to seek further medical evidence, usually occur on the day of the hearing.
It's frustrating but there is no way around this

Thanks for your replies.
In answer to Carol I do have a welfare rep but they cannot attend, so they sent in a letter giving reasons for appeal and why I should qualify for support group.
The delay just means more sleepless nights.
