Disability Working Allowance was created by fighterpilot
Can anyone tell me please if i can work whilst claiming and receiving DLA (middle rate care, high rate mob). And can i work a maximum amount of hours and will i qualify for housing benefit even if i'm not in receipt of ESA. (I just had an ESA appeal hearing on Friday and am not hopeful of winning my appeal. Waiting to be notified by post)It looks like i will have to try to find some kind of work, although am not hopeful that anyone will take me on.
Many thanks.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Yes, it is entirely possible to work whilst in reciept of DLA - as long as the work does not clash with the stated needs for which DLA has been claimed.
Don't forget that you may be able to reclaim ESA as I suspect that more than 6 months has passed since the first decision was made.

However, to continue to receive the benefit you need to ensure that any work you carry out, does not conflict with the limitations that led to your DLA award.
As an example, if you walk two miles to work and back each day, this would probably be seen as comflicting with your Higher Rate Mobility award.
We don't advise on Housing Benefit so you will need to get face to face advice. See

DLA is not effected by a claimant working or not, nor are you usually required to notify the DWP if start or stop work. Can anyone tell me please if i can work whilst claiming and receiving DLA (middle rate care, high rate mob).
