Migraine

This is my first post. I am currently filling in the ESA50. I suffer with chronic classical migraine, made worse by a cervical/neck problem (MRI confirmed abnormal) for which the phyiso advised the use of a home cervical traction unit, which I use frequently.
My question is, would it be worth mentioning on the form that 'Jobcentreplus' will not allow people to claim Job seekers allowance if they suffer with more than a few migraines per year. So if my claim for ESA was disallowed and jobseekers allowance was unavailable to me then I would be stuck between two camps so to speak. I know this formum is unable to answer benefit questions but I just want to know if its worth mentioning on the form, because they might not know on what critera another department is operating.
I would be interested to know how other migraine sufferers were finding this process of moving from incapacity benefit to ESA.

It's entirely up to you, but be aware that there is no automatic right to ESA if you are unable to claim JSA, or to JSA if you fail with your ESA claim, unfortunately, DWP statistics show that there are a lot of people who fall into the middle ground and are not entitled to any benefits.

i suffer from chronic migraine 15 per month with vomiting. I was on jsa as the company i work for went into liquidation was also on disciplinary every week due to being sick in office) yes i still struggled to work and that was the thanks i got lol
i was told that i could only claim jsa for 6 months even though i had been in continous employment for 15 years as my partner works (minimum wage) and after that couldnt claim anything when they found out about my health issues hip dysplacia, sciatica asthma the list goes on .....however my claim was cancelled for jsa and was told i had to apply for esa
i have been waiting since august for an atos medical and in the end last week rang them to ask how long it would be before i got a medical she gave me an appointment over the phone for 3 weeks time
my experience is that they dont care if you are or are not eligable etc and only give them enough evidence that is applicable
any more and they use it against you
good look and let me know how you get on

We don't normally advise on JSA, but I do know that you can only claim Contribution Based ESA for six months, after which you can then claim Income Related JSA.hi

As you now have a date for your assessment, you might want to have a look (another look), at our ESA Claim guides so that you are fully prepared as possible, see
