medical or no medical

hi, why is it that some people require a medical and some dont?? is it just random?? thanks

A medical is required when ATOS feel that the information they have (from the ESA50 for instance) is not sufficient for them to make a decision.

Just to add, ATOS cannot recommend a "Fit for work" decision, unless a face to face assessment is carried out.

Therefore anyone who is assessed by paper scrutiny alone, will be placed in either The WRAG or Support Group of ESA.

It does not necessarily follow that all claimants who have a face to face will be found "Fit for Work", indeed we have had members who have been placed into The WRAG and SG after having a face to face.
