Hi,
I filled in the income support form which I was supprised to get as I thought they were not sending them out anymore, I posted it back to them guarenteed next day delivery and I have printed off the proof from the post office including the signature of the person who signed for it and it was delivered on the 12-10-12.
It had to go to the Benefits Integrity Office in Chelmsford, but today I got a letter from them saying they have stopped my benefits from 05-10-12 because I didn't return the form.
I know I will have to phone them on Monday but I am not sure what to say to them.
Can anyone please give me a clue as to what to do about this please.

We don't advise on IS, so we are limited in how we can help you, however, it sounds like your returned form and the letter suspending your benefit have passed in the the DWPs internal mail system.
All you can do is contact them on Monday, to confirm their receipt of the returned form and to ask for your payments to be re-instated.

Please let us know how you get on because this is all too common a problem with almost any correspondence with the DWP.
I once dealt with the same office (Chelmsford) and they had subcontracted the work to a third party. Somewhere along the line my whole file seemed to have got lost. I'm currently waiting to see if they are able to provide me with a copy of my file under the Data Protection Act.
