ESA DECISION was created by aarmic
Hi, hope you are all doing well. Just a quick posting as i don't quite know what to make of my conversation with the DWP office today. At the end of Aug 2012 i submitted my ESA50 form and have heard nothing since, when i contacted the office today i was told that i would have to wait to be called for an assessment, and that they would then decide on which group i fit into or whether i would need to claim another benefit. The customer service officer then went on to say that the system was showing that i currently receive ESA and that my medical certs were all up to date, that seemed to be as much as he could tell me.
I am quite surprised that within the past 3 months i have not been called to attend an assessment then i am now being told by the DWP that i will have to wait for one. Someone whom i know claimed for ESA 3 weeks ago and is due to attend an assessment next week.
Just totally confused about it all, and was wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience such as mine with the Wembley office and have you had to wait that much longer beyond the assessment phase for a decision.
Many thanks.

There is considerable regional variation in the system, and even within an office.
As frustrating as it is, you can't relate one claim to another with any certainty.

I waited nearly 6 months for my assessment, it does vary considerably.

My forms were sent back nearly three weeks ago. From 9am till 8.30pm I'm on constant tenderhooks waiting for the phone to ring.
It's torture
