My income support has also now stopped as it has been changed to child tax credits. The only other benefit I get is DLA.
If this is true then the promise of not losing out moving from ib to esa is a fallacy.
If so can I ask to be transfered to income based esa I have not worked since 1991 due to my ilness and it seems strange,I have been put into contribution based esa, Thanks.

As you are no longer receiving an Income Related benefit, you will not qualify for COld Weather Payments.put into WRAG contribution based group even though this is my only income,Is it true that I will now not be able to recieve cold weather payments,As I used to receive these on IB.

I am afraid you will need to get face to face advice as to whether you can claim Income Related ESA, as I understand it, this may only be payable as a top-up to your existing ESA(CB), which will depend on your personal circumstances.

So Is it possible to be moved to income based esa ?. my wife is not working,I have been on IB since 1991 then onto contribution based esa.It looks as though this has been well thought out by the tories, change income support to child tax credits then all clients getting esa Whether or not they have any other income in the family,Are pushed onto contribution based esa.
Surely this is not right.

Are you eligible? I cannot answer this, you will need to get advice as it is dependant on your personal circumstances.
