I'm guessing that you found the New Topic button as you managed to create a New Topic

Not sure you get what I was referring to.
When you go to the forum there WAS a "New Posts" button that listed any new posts since your last visit.
The new topic you refer to is to start a new thread.

The new topic button is to start a new thread.

Apologies for mis-understanding your original question, but I'm still not sure what you are looking for and I have no way of referring back to the old software to check.
Topics with new posts since your last visit continue to have "new" marker next to the topic name.
There is are "reply topic" and "reply" buttons to create a reply.
If you are trying to mark all posts as read there is a button at the bottom of the topic list that does this.
If none of the above, perhaps you could explain in more detail what you are trying to do.

There was a button "new Posts" which when pressed it would update/refresh the screen you were viewing.
Pressing "F5" on the keYboard does the same BUT there was a button on the top of the forum.
