Whose best to fill in the esa form

Im awaiting the esa form. In the meantime my family and myself have been struggling to make notes and fill in a draft version in order to prepare a little with the help of the b & w guides. (never sure if your saying the right thing)
My query is this, I recently spoke to a CAB advisor who said do not fill the fom in myself as I have more chance of failing. Do you think it is best to let the CAB fill my form in for me?
I also heard it is best to fill the form in myself and to not get a chariity, like Disability Rights etc, to fill it in because they have a 'set' way of filling in the form, and ATOS have become versed at knowing when others have filled in the form, and apparently this can work against you.
Have you heard of this and what do you think is the best way to go about filling in the form
Thanks.

Hi pjd,
It is a matter for the individual to make an informed decision, there are good CAB advisers and bad CAB advisers.
An option may be to let one of the advisers fill out the ESA50, do your own also. Then insist that you are allowed to review the advisers version before it is posted off.
You would then have to decide which version was the best, so it would again revert back to you deciding.
Merry Xmas and Happy NY.

We're not really in a position to advise

Pros - the CAB do have expereince of how to complete the form for best effect, whether this is something that ATOS and the DWP recognise and which colours their view, I don't know
Cons - are you going to be able to explain to someone you may only see for an hour, how your conditions(s) effect you on a day to day basis and specifically in the context of the ESA descriptors?
My best advice is for your to review our ESA Guides before making a Decision, at least that way any decision you make will be more informed. See
www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/help-for-claimants/esa
You can get an electronic copy of the current ESA50 but be aware, if you are not already being assessed that there is an update to the descriptors which will come into effect on 28/01/13, this will require an updated ESA50 and new guides, which are not currently available.

Oh great, now Im worried I will get a bad CAB advisor, ha. (they told me they have specialist esa advisors who do this all the time). How do I tell if I get a bad one?
I didnt realise that I could insist and keep the form with me if it is filled in by the CAB , as I thought they just send it off after going through it with you.
Do the CAB always sign the back of the form if they have filled it out. Do you think they would fill out a copy of an online version, then let me keep it to check its okay. and then when the orginal form comes, I would get my family to copy the info across. My friend thinks its too much messing about and that the cab probably wont do it anyway - what do you think?
to This whole thing is majorly stressing me out and I haven't even got the form yet, and now Ive read that the form will be changed from january anyway.
Merry xmas and a happy new year to you too
(I think Ill have to forgo the painkillers and have a little drink over xmas to help me cope with the stress.

Hi pjd,
Have you read Gordon's comments also ? : www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/forum?view=top...id=10&id=96427#96621
As I advised you about your query regading medical reports etc, it is always best to check anything, before allowing someone else to post it off for you.
After all, they could have made legitimate mistakes.
Don't hit the Cooking Sherry too hard now !!

This might sound daft but could I get the cab to fill in a copy form, then keep it and then add any other information I want to put on it. Will cab let me do this if they are the ones to originally fill it in?
Sorry if Im rambling.
