Invalidity benefit

On the assumption that you are successfully transferred to ESA, you will be paid the applicable ESA rate plus a Transitionary Payment to make your ESA payments up to the same amount as you are currently receiving on IB (assuming that your current IB rate is higher than what you would be paid on ESA).

This additional payment will continue while you remain eligible for ESA(CB) and your ESA payments are less than what your IB payments were at the time of your transfer, or until April 2020.

You need to be aware if you are placed in the WRAG then your ESA(CB) payments will be limited to 365 days.

Also, ESA(CB) is liable to tax.
