WFI not what I expected

Don't forget that the majority of DWP/JCP employees are just ordinary people, doing the job to the best of their ability

Seems to be a few posts here now since you replied to mine on thre first page, yes, seems we are along very simular lines and at simular stages of the process, my age is close to yours also.

I am sure that JCP are more keen to get younger people back into work rather that the ones nearer the end of there working life, not to say that more mature "customers" are any less valuable in the job market.

Did your advisor give you any clue to when your next WFI would be even if its over the phone ? as my advisor did not give any time scale.

I do hope that your WFI path is calm and you get left alone even for a short period of time as that looks like all it will be in the vast majority of cases.

PC has now been placed into The SG, so they cannot be compelled to attend WFI & WRA anymore.

Indeed I have a letter telling me I am in support group. I also have today received a letter dated 4 days later telling me my ESA rate of benefit from April, and reminding me that my ESA will be time limited as I am in WRAG CB. I am hoping that someone was a bit slow in communicating between DWP offices, but will follow this up in the next few days if DWP doesn't send a corrected letter.

The JC+ adviser did not know when I had the first WFI that I would on appeal be moved to support group, though she did anticipate it. She told me that if I had not been placed in support group she would be carrying out the next WFI in approximately 3 months time by phone.
I had hoped that by reporting in forum my experience at wfi others going through the process would be less anxious about attending them. As Mrs Hurtyback and Gordon have commented, DWP and JC+ staff are ordinary people doing their job to the best of their ability. I think they are sometimes demonised for just operating in a system that is very strained and in my opinion, seriously flawed. I was certainly treated with utmost respect and courtesy, by JC+, for which I was very grateful.
